The Magnet, The Method and The Machine: The 3 Laws and 9 Levers Custom Homebuilders Use to Scale to $20M and BeyondMost custom homebuilders live the same year forty times and call it a life. Most custom homebuilders live the same year forty times and call it a life.

They hustle for leads, drown in details, and spend every day putting out fires.
They run an adult daycare instead of a business.

On paper, they look successful - trucks on the road, projects underway, revenue hitting $3M, $6M, even $10M+. But peel back the curtain, and you'll see the reality:

They haven't built a business. They've built an expensive prison with a fancy logo.

They're the first one in, the last one out, and the bottleneck in every single decision.

Sound familiar?

It doesn't have to stay that way.

In The Magnet, The Method, and The Machine, bestselling author and ICF Certified builder's coach Rodric Lenhart pulls back the curtain on what it really takes to scale a custom homebuilding company to $20M+ while gaining back your time, sanity, and freedom.

This isn't about hacks, spreadsheets, or another piece of software that sits unused on your team's laptops.
It's about building a company that works without you - by applying the 3 Laws and 9 Levers that have transformed builders from Vancouver to Miami.

Inside you'll learn how to:

  • Attract premium clients on demand so you never waste time on tire-kickers again.

  • Build a team you trust to run projects without you so you can finally step out of the day-to-day chaos.

  • Install systems that drive profit and predictability so growth feels controlled, not overwhelming.

  • Position yourself as the authority in your market so clients chase you instead of the other way around.

  • Scale revenue while gaining freedom so your business supports your life - what you wanted when you started this thing in the first place...

These frameworks aren't theory. They're battle-tested with real builders who've scaled beyond what they thought possible.

And the early readers couldn't stop talking about it:

"This book spoke to the exact problems I've been facing in my business for years. For the first time, I see a clear path forward." - Mark T., Texas

"Rodric doesn't just talk theory - he gives you the playbook. I wish I had this 10 years ago." - Sarah L., Michigan

"It felt like he was inside my head, describing my day-to-day chaos. The solutions are practical, clear, and immediately usable." - John D., Florida

"Every builder I know should be forced to read this before they hire their first employee." - Ryan E., California

"The stories, the frameworks, the clarity - this book will change the way you run your company." - Jenny H., Rhode Island

"I've read every business book out there. This one actually speaks the language of builders. No fluff, just what works." - Alex W., Florida

"Finally - a book that explains not just how to work harder, but how to work smarter and actually reclaim your life." - Jeff T., Utah

The builders who scale don't just take on more jobs or hire more people. They install systems, build structure, and claim the leverage that allows them to step into the role of CEO instead of exhausted operator.

That's the choice in front of you now.

If you're ready to stop spinning your wheels and start becoming the architect of a thriving, scalable company that leaves a legacy - this is the book you've been waiting for.

I Wanted to Like It
Style: SPF 50, Size: 1 count (Pack of 1)
I really wanted to like it because of the great reviews it gets with backpackers and generally with people that don't like "greasy hands syndrome" after applying sunscreen. But after using a stick I found that it's just not that good. The good: small, lightweight container. Not greasy. Good protection, I was in the sun all day hiking multiple days straight and only put on sunscreen twice per day and I didn't have any burning... and I burn easily. The bad: Value: the $12.53 sunscreen container only lasted about 8 days. And that was just my arms, neck, and half my face since I wore a shirt and long pants and a wide brim hat every day when hiking. I would expect this amount of sunscreen to last a lot longer than that on such a limited area. I'm not a big person either. Application, chafing: it's the opposite of greasy, almost chalky. You use the stick to apply to your skin in stripes, then you have to "blend it in" by rubbing with the backs of your hands so your palms don't get chalky. Since the stick is so dry this requires a fair amount of force and it chafes as you rub it around. When your skin a bit sandy it hurts. Application, crumbling: on a chilly but sunny morning, about 45 F, I applied sunscreen and small chunks of the stick crumbled off. I watched precious chunks of the already overpriced sunscreen drop to the ground. Residue: while it's not greasy, it's physical sunblock so it gives your skin the characteristic whitish sparkle. That's to be expected. But what I didn't foresee is it will rub off on anything your skin touches. My gear had white chalk-like marks (technically titania powder?) on my shirt collars, backpack straps, sunglasses, and a few other high-touch items. Overall I think it's a neat idea. I'm not overly disappointed with my purchase. But for $12.50 I expect sunscreen to be easier to apply and for the container to last longer than about 8 days. I can't burn $50/month in the summer months when a single container of chemical sunscreen will do the job. Pro tip: you can buy food-safe 3 oz TSA travel containers. Load one of those up with chemical sunscreen and you have something that beats this in every way except for the greasiness, which you can mitigate by picking a lower SPF sunscreen (the 30 SPF you wear is infinitely better than the 50 SPF you skip!).

Best sunscreen for kids
This is the only sunscreen my son can use. He has very sensitive skin, and can’t use a lot of other sunscreens. This covers great and is a little thicker so you know it’s staying on.
