The Montblanc Great Characters collection pays tribute to some of history's most influential individuals, and Elvis Presley is a natural fit. Born in Tupelo, Mississippi in 1935, Presley's move to Memphis led him to Sun Studio and a fusion of country and rhythm & blues that would forever change pop music. His influence extended globally with his first single selling over 10 million records and the "Aloha from Hawaii" concert, which broadcast to 1.5 billion people. This special edition pen draws inspiration from that very concert.
The pen’s design beautifully captures Elvis’s style and passions. The cap features an eagle in hand-filled lacquered windows, reminiscent of the eagle on his famous white jumpsuit from the "Aloha from Hawaii" concert. The barrel is inscribed with "Elvis has left the building," a phrase made famous at that same performance. The nib, meanwhile, is engraved with "Jailhouse Rock" to commemorate his hit single. The pen's overall shape is inspired by a car engine's spark plug, with the holes in the clip representing the powerful V8 engines that Elvis adored. The cone of the pen features one of his most famous quotes, "Ambition is a dream with a V8 engine."
This elaborate special edition Montblanc rollerball pen is a truly unique addition to The Great Characters collection. With its unique colors, lacquered materials, and design that captures Elvis’s dual passions for music and automobiles, this pen is impossible to overlook.
This pen is in mint/new condition, is numbered 1819/1935, and still has the protective plastic film covering the grip section
