"Gorgeously maturing, the wine shows dark berry, dried herb, smoked game, toasted nut and warm mushroom aromas on the nose. The palate displays juicy fruit intensity with savoury nuances, wonderfully framed by loads of polished tannins, finishing persistent and sturdy. At its best: now to 2027" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Aug 2024
"A ruby core through to the rim with a hint of garnet fade leads to a bouquet that can be nothing but Wairarapa scents. Strawberry and plum, cherry and a clay-savoury quality. Very enticing with complexity and power. Aromas and flavours of barrel smoke and spices, cedar and vanilla, earth smoke and a mix of fresh and drying berries. Fine to moderate tannins with polish, along with the acidity deliver poise and impact. Well made with a lovely mouthfeel and complexity, and a dry lengthy finish. Best drinking from day of purchase through 2029" Cameron Douglas MS, Aug 2024
Deep garnet, purple hue. Dark, ripe purple and red fruits, with currant and vanilla undertones. The tannins are slightly grippy, but fine boned. The steel bar of acidity pushes through the richness of the mannoproteins. The finish is long and persistent.

Awarded 92/100 Points: James Suckling, Jamessuckling.com
"Redcurrants, cranberries, dried herbs and sweet spices on the nose. Some cedar, too. It’s medium-bodied with lively acidity. Fruity and crunchy with vibrant character, tension and balance. Succulent finish. Drink or hold" James Suckling, Oct 2022
Deep garnet, purple hue. Cardamom, blueberries, dark fleshed cherries with flecks of freshly crushed vanilla pod leap from the glass. Rich dark toasty characters add to the Te Muna bright acid line. The tannins are youthful and fine boned, adding to the mid palate interest. An iron fist in a velvet glove.
Alc: 14%
2 x Butterworth Te Muna Martinborough Pinot Noir 2021
Awarded 95/100 Points & 5 Stars: Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews
"Medium crimson, slightly lighter on the rim. The nose is profound and elegant, with aromas of cherry, dried raspberry, dried hibiscus, medicinal herbs and delicate spice. Medium-bodied, aromas of cherry, dried raspberry and hibiscus entwined with dried herbs, liquorice, and cinnamon. Silky, integrated tannins engage the concentrated fruit, unveiling developed spice and herb details. Lively acidity binds and lends a savoury, long finish. This Te Muna Pinot Noir is enticing, ageing with elegance, depth and power" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews
Deep garnet with a purple hue. A lift of black doris plum, bright cherry and raspberry, cardamom spice with anise and Dutch Cocoa. Rose petal florals that are typical of the block. Earthy, savoury notes underly the fruit lift. The palate is full and round, the tannins are very fine-boned, chalky, and barely drying, with a ferrous edge. The juicy acid with and mid-palate richness adds to the great length, without bittering, and a fine finish.
The soils of Te Muna Terraces are free-draining alluvial gravel, which are rich in minerals making it ideal for growing grapes. The climate is an extension of Martinborough and similar to Burgundy, being only slightly cooler due to higher altitude, but with long cool summers and low rainfall providing the optimum long ripening conditions for grapes.
Alc: 13.5%
