The front and back of the plate are identical. The same ports are on both sides making it easy to set up.

Example Setup: A/V Equipment is in a cabinet sitting on the floor below a TV mounted on the wall. Install two matching plates, one behind the cabinet and another behind the TV. Run three HDMI cables, an Ethernet cable, a Coax cable, and a TOSLink cable between the two plates. Now you can connect up the equipment in the cabinet to the TV with professional fit and finish.
