The gold nugget has a wonderful texture and unique shape. The free form dimensions of gold nuggets are organic and poetic, highlighting the buttery gold and extraordinary crevices. This is a beautiful display of gold in its natural, unaltered state.
Gold nuggets are formed by hot fluids flowing through cracks deep in the Earth’s crust. Weather eventually releases the nuggets into streams and bodies of water, where they are shaped by erosion and time.
The charm weighs 5.5 grams. The nugget is approximately 5/8” x 5/16”, not including the bail which is an additional 3/16”. The natural round diamond is 3 mm, approximately .15 of a carat, G-H in color and SLI in clarity. The rabbit bail allows the charm to lay flat. The nugget tests as 22k-24k gold. The rabbit bail and the diamond’s prong setting test as 14k.

I have just discovered Lilias Trotter and her writings and paintings. Beautiful watercolors evoking all aspects of her life especially spent in Africa are on each page with a snippet of a quote from her writings. Even without journaling, it's pleasure to page through admiring her wonderful talent and Godly perspective.
