The crank support system on the Miami are a weak link when installing an aftermarket supercharger, especially the larger Whipple Superchargers units. But even the humble 8 rib system on the Miami can risk damage. The added force on the belt & pulley system has been known to flex or snap the Miami crankshafts causing catastrophic damage.

DOES NOT REQUIRE REMOVAL OF FRONT SWAY BAR

We  come up with a solution in the Miami 5.0L Crank Support Kit. Made from billet 6961 billet aluminum with a high speed C3 rated bearing, this crank support system helps to minimize any flex or movement in the front of the crank to help prevent breakage. The aluminum plate installs onto the timing cover around the balancer using the included spacers and bolts. The balancer bolt slides through the large billet hub that will also sit inside of the balancer to help keep it from moving. This hub will replace the factory washer and then sits inside of a large, high-RPM-capable bearing attached to the billet aluminum plate. These act together to keep the crank in place and in one piece.
