Description

Armadillidium c.f. Pallasii “Croatian Giants” are a striking and robust species prized for their impressive size and textured appearance. Highly prolific breeders, they thrive in temperate to semi-arid conditions and have gained popularity as excellent feeder isopods, especially for bearded dragons. The name “Frontisotre” was originally used for this culture; however, this is a misapplied name that actually refers to an already-identified species, Armadillidium pallasii. The "c.f." in A. c.f. pallasii stands for “confer” (compare to), indicating he isopod is not definitively pallasii, but closely resembles it based on expert identification.

Master Culture

For successfully setting up a master culture setup of isopods we recommend using 6 qt - 32 qt plastic shoebox tubs. Locking tubs are optional but provide added security. Creating a series of small holes on alternating sides of the container will help to achieve healthy flow and reduce mold. Adding 1-3 inches (more for burrowing species) of pre-soaked Pangea ABG Substrate will provide a suitable substrate. Adding Pangea Sphagnum Moss, Pangea Leaf Litter Decor (the more the better), and pieces of wood or cork bark will help provide multiple layers for isopods to inhabit and feel safe. Mist culture as needed.

*Co-habitation amongst separate species of Isopod is not recommended

*This animal can only be shipped to the Contiguous US, except LA, OR, and FL because of state regulations.

Opens the can weird, but functional
Color: Black/Battery
Ehhh it’s easy to use and gets it open, my only issue is that it doesn’t open a can like a regular can opener where it is cut on top of the can and you can push it in the can to drain if needed. Rather it cuts the outside of the can as it spins around, so it doesn’t fit inside the can. Not very handy when you’re opening a can of tuna and want to drain the tuna juice, so I had to keep my manual one, that I was trying to get rid of by buying this electric one 🙃

Works Great!
Color: Black/Battery
I've only used it a few times since it arrived and it works great. Much better than the hand cranking can opener I've been using. It's a little loud, but that's not enough of a deterrent for me to stop using it. The noise is a temporary annoyance that I'll gladly put up with to have a can opener that actually completely opens a can.

Super convenient and easy to use!

This electric can opener is a game-changer in the kitchen. It operates smoothly with just the press of a button and leaves safe, smooth edges on the cans. Very compact and handy.

Injured finger from use
Color: Black/Battery
Just used the product for the first time today. Beware, it does work but it cut my daughter’s finger open really bad because it made the edge of the can stringy and she cut her finger on it. Be careful.
