ان کے افسانے پڑھ کر کہیں کونے کھدرے میں دھڑکتے بے چین دل کو خوشگوار تازگی کااحساس ہوا ۔ ایسا لگتا ہے ساحر شفیق اپنے نام کی طرح جادوگر ہے جو لفظوں کے حصار میں انسان کو قید کرلیتا ہے اور اس قید کے اندر حبس اور گھٹن کے بجائے انسان خود کو تازہ دم محسوس کرتا ہے اور خود کو ہمیشہ کے لیے اس کا اسیر ہی رہنے کی آرزو کرتا ہے ۔ ان کے لکھے ہوئے الفاظ پڑھ کر ایسا محسوس ہوا جیسے میرا بھی ان لفظوں سے کوئی تعلق ہے جس کے بارے میں اکثر میں شکوہ کرتا ہوں کہ مجھ سے کچھ لکھا ہی نہیں جاتا ایسا لگتا جیسے الفاظ مجھ سے روٹھے ہیں اور کہہ رہے ہوں کہ ہمارے آس پاس بھی نہ بھٹکوں اور ان کی دنیا میں قدم بھی نہ رکھوں
