Instead of receiving help, we were met with misdiagnosis and dismissal of the environmental factors that were harming her. Despite these challenges, we have fought tirelessly to protect Kioni, uncover the truth, and demand justice not only for her but for other families facing similar battles.
We are pursuing legal action to hold landlords, hospitals, and institutions accountable for their failures. This includes exposing fraudulent housing practices, advocating for mandatory mold screening in medical care, and pushing for policy reforms under what we call Kioni’s Law — protections that would prevent other children from suffering what she endured.
