Originally released in 1995, Clutch is the self-titled second album by the Maryland rock band and a cornerstone of the 1990s stoner rock scene. Produced by Lawrence “Uncle Punchy” Packer at Uncle Punchy Studios, the album expanded the band’s sound with a mix of stoner blues, funk metal, punk, and space rock.

Heavy riffs and vivid, offbeat lyrics collide on tracks like “Escape from the Prison Planet,” “Spacegrass,” and “I Have the Body of John Wilkes Booth.” With nods to Sabbath and Zeppelin, Clutch marked a turning point in the band’s evolution—both musically and thematically—and has since become their best-selling and most enduring release.

A cult favourite that still features heavily in the band’s live shows.
