The Cisco Catalyst 9600 Series C9600X-LC-56YL4C is a high-density line card designed for campus core or distribution deployments. It features 56 multi-rate SFP56 ports supporting 50/25/10/1 Gigabit Ethernet, and 4 multi-rate QSFP28 ports supporting 100/40 Gigabit Ethernet uplinks. This configuration allows for flexible connectivity to both downstream devices, such as access switches, and upstream devices, like service provider or data center switches, without the need for additional modules.

When paired with the C9600X-SUP-2 supervisor engine, which offers a 3.2 Tbps full-duplex bandwidth, the line card provides non-blocking performance across all ports. Additionally, it supports Advanced Encryption Standard 256 (AES-256) with MACsec and WAN MACsec encryption algorithms, enhancing data security across the network.
