2021 REISSUE via SOUL JAZZ. INDIE EXCLUSIVE LTD OXBLOOD RED VINYL LP. EDITION OF 1,000.

"Soul Jazz Records’ new ox-blood red coloured vinyl limited-edition 1000-copies worldwide LP (+ download code) issue of this very rare deep spiritual jazz album, first released as a private-press album in 1970 on flautist Lloyd McNeill’s own Asha Record label in Washington, DC. Lloyd McNeill is an African-American flautist, painter, poet, and photographer born in Washington, D.C., in 1935. His multi-disciplinary creative life led to encounters and friendships with Nina Simone, Picasso, Eric Dolphy, Nana Vasconceles and other legendary cultural figures. Lloyd McNeill’s hypnotic ‘Washington Suite’ was originally commissioned as a piece of music for the Capital Ballet Company, in Washington, DC. McNeill grew up through the era of the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s and his life and work is a reflection of those ideals. In the mid-1960s he moved to France where he became friends with Picasso, working with a number of émigré-jazz musicians whilst living in Paris. In the late 1960s he taught jazz and painting workshops at the New Thing Art and Architecture Center in Washington. In the 1970s he travelled throughout Brazil and West Africa studying music, and taught music anthropology in the US"

Stretch out, size down but love the shorts.
Size: 8, Color: Ocean Breeze
Love these shorts. My favorites ever. I always always wear a size 8 in shorts. The 8 fit initially, but stretched out so much, I didn’t have to unbutton them to get them out. I bought 3 colors. I finally bought one in a size 6. Perfect fit, even if they do stretch a little. Returning the unworn ones, and replacing with size 6.

Love these shorts.
Size: 4, Color: Jet Black
Five inch for a great mom fit. Cute button closures for the pockets on the back, nice deep pockets. It’s hard to see in the video because they are black but they are the comfiest shorts. True to size. I’m a size 3-4 and the 4 fits perfect…. Even after washing and drying.

Excellent quality!!!
Size: 10, Color: Ocean Breeze
Wow great quality!!! You get what you pay for that’s for sure!! The fabric is heavy-ish-indicative of quality fabric. Fit is spot on. I’m a barely size 10 (5’6” 160 lbs) and these shorts deliver!! The stretch is just perfect enough for comfort. Excited to wear these next summer!! Will watch for more sales so I can grab a couple more pairs. If you’re on the fence, get them!!

These are really nice shorts. The fabric is nice quality. They do run a little large.

Love!
Size: 10, Color: Sailors Red
The quality is excellent. They are more of a faded red. I ordered a 10 worried they might be snug but that was a mistake. I should have stuck with my normal size 8. (I purchased an Amazon brand of this style that runs small and the size 10 feels more like an 8.) I love the length-not too short and not too long. They are sturdy cotton. There is not any stretch to the fabric. I’m giving them to a friend. I actually tried to shrink them by washing them in hot water and hot dryer but it didn’t make them fit me any better. Since they were already too big, I can’t really say if they shrunk by doing this. They weren’t huge on me before washing and seemed to fit the same way after. I tried wearing them all day and they seemed to loosen up even further. I was continuously pulling them up. I really feel like the sizing is accurate and you can be pretty confident of ordering your regular size. I’ve already reordered the size 8. I’ll update my review if there any issues with that size.
