Do you remember the old days? When companies could sack half their workforce, relocate the rest, cut their benefits, freeze their salaries and expect good people to stay and be thankful? Those days are long gone - the talent/capital power balance has flipped over. The figures are astounding: in Germany, they already face a shortfall of 200,000 engineers by 2003. Two-thirds of all the executives in Western companies (US and Europe) are expected to change their jobs in the next 36 months. All of this at time when the New Economy means that you simply have to have creative, educated, intelligent people working for you or you'll get left behind. Just throwing money at them won't work either - people want a challenge, flexibility, personalised benefits - and you'll have to provide these things. This 2nd edition has been revamped and made even more personal, with all new material on how to take advantage of the people wars for you own career.

Weight Gain??
These pills are a great buy considering the ingredients aside from the coloring. Has anyone else experienced weight gain?? I'm trying to figure out if it's these vitamins or the other vitamins I'm taking.

The transformative power of stories, not checklists
Format: Hardcover
As someone familiar with previous writings from Keller and Inazu, I was eager to get this book--it did not disappoint. Both gentlemen are serious scholars, so one might have expected a weighty or dense theological treatise. Instead, they oriented the project around stories--individual stories that faithfully reflect personal versions of the grand Story of redemption, hope, beauty, truth, and justice. Rather than offering long lists of direct recommendations to other people (whose contexts will inevitably be different), these stories target the soul. As such, these stories offer vivid and practical insights to my particular context, but they do so indirectly, authentically, and inspirationally. As Keller has written elsewhere, no one changes his behavior because he's told he needs to change--he must be SHOWN. This book doesn't just tell us what authentic Christianity looks like in our polarized world, it shows us--and it does so exceptionally well. Highly recommended if you want to challenge your soul with diverse renderings of faithful living. Direct application to your life and specific recommendations for action will no doubt emerge, but they'll come from the inspiration of the Holy Spirit working through the power of Story.
