Key Features

  • High-Temperature Ceramic Insulation: Features a thick, glazed ceramic body designed to withstand the intense heat of the stovetop while preventing electrical leakage to the range frame.
  • Precision Spark Gap: Engineered with a factory-set metal electrode tip that ensures a consistent, high-voltage spark to the burner head for rapid gas ignition.
  • Reinforced Lead Wire: Includes a high-temperature fiberglass-insulated wire that remains flexible and heat-resistant, protecting the electrical signal from the spark module.
  • Snap-In Mounting Design: Specifically molded to clip securely into the burner base, maintaining perfect alignment between the spark tip and the gas ports.

Compatibility & Fitment

This igniter is a standard component for many gas ranges and cooktops manufactured by Whirlpool and Maytag. Key compatible brands include:

  • Maytag: Fits a wide array of freestanding and slide-in gas ranges (e.g., MGR series).
  • Whirlpool: Compatible with various Gold and standard series gas stoves.
  • Jenn-Air: Fits specific luxury cooktop models utilizing the 74004053 electrode.
  • Magic Chef & Admiral: Direct fit for many legacy mid-tier gas ranges produced under the Maytag/Whirlpool umbrella.
  • Note: While this is a common part, always verify that your original igniter uses a spade connector; some older models may use a "round" pin connector.

When to Replace

  • No Spark at the Burner: You hear the "click-click-click" from other burners, but this specific burner fails to produce a spark.
  • Cracked Ceramic Insulator: Visible hairline cracks in the white ceramic allow electricity to "arc" to the metal frame instead of the burner head.
  • Constant Clicking: If moisture or grease has seeped into a cracked igniter, it can cause the spark module to click continuously even when the knob is off.
  • Corroded Spark Tip: The metal electrode has worn down or become heavily pitted from years of heat, resulting in a weak or orange spark that won't light the gas.
  • Broken Lead Wire: The internal copper wire has snapped or the insulation has burned through, causing an open circuit.

Installation Tips

  • Safety First: CRITICAL: Unplug the range from the electrical outlet and turn off the gas supply before removing the cooktop or burner base.
  • Surface Cleaning: PRO TIP: Before installing the new 74004053, use an old toothbrush to clean the burner base where the igniter sits. Accumulated grease can prevent a proper ground connection.
  • Wire Routing: Ensure the lead wire is tucked away from direct contact with the burner flame or sharp metal edges of the range chassis.
  • The "Dry" Test: After installation but before turning the gas back on, plug the range in and test the "Lite" position. You should see a strong blue spark jumping from the electrode to the burner head.
  • Avoid Chemicals: Do not use heavy degreasers or abrasive pads on the new ceramic insulator, as this can strip the protective glaze and lead to premature failure.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Fun with a late blooming omega
Format: Kindle
I like this book. The story is fun, cute, and sexy. There's just a little drama, some excellent, steamy scenes, and a fairly good relationship building storyline. I especially like how all the main characters are a bit older than the usual 20 somethings I tend to see in this kind of book. Having said that, I wish there were more descriptions of the places, as well as the food in the fancy restaurant. I enjoyed the cocktails at the club, so I missed that kind of detail when Gray took Madison on a dinner date. I also wish there had been more interaction between Lucas and Madison, and Lucas and Rian. It felt a bit lopsided, with a focus on Rian, Madison, and Gray. I wish it had been proofread - there are a lot of typos, but nothing too distracting.

Madison Deserved Better
Format: Kindle
Madison was a beta...except she wasn't any longer. She was a late presenting Omega. And she was struggling. She was tall and thin, not tiny and curvy. She was opinionated. She was everything an Omega was not. After suffering through her first heat, her friends took her to Ardor, a club where Omegas came to safely find Alphas. She's not expecting much but then she connects with a sexy beta. And when she meets his Alphas, they set her body on fire. Maybe, she's found her no-strings-attached heat pack. Maybe, she's found something more. I could not connect with the characters in this book, so their story never resonated with me. And there was no love story; there was sex. Grey made it clear from the beginning that he had a true love and it was his beta boy, Rian. He went so far as to reassure Rian “Say the word, I’ll never touch her again. Lucas can put the babies in her. I only need you, beta boy”. So, Madison was there for babies, no emotions needed. Nice. No, thank you. I want the Omega to be the center of their world, not an incubator. Lucas and Rian weren't any better. After her heat, they let her leave. Not one of them made her feel valued. No one gave her a reason to stay or even offered a cuddle. And the sex didn't even come across as mind-blowing. Madison deserved better.
