Pecan Bowl Blank P-474 3.8" x 8" x 7" 4.3 lbs. This is an attractive half-log bowl blank of Texas-grown Pecan wood. Its color is a soft tan to peachy light brown color with subtle darker-brown streaks of mineralization. The wood grain has a pleasant and gracefully flowing pattern. It has full and well-attached bark on the back side. There are extensive tunnels of a wood borer in an interesting pattern. This feature will likely need epoxy stabilization if you want to preserve it or highlight it in your finished turning. This half-log bowl blank should be suitable for a bowl of 7-8" in diameter and 3" deep. With the bark on the backside, you have the option of turning a conventional bowl or a "barky" natural-edge bowl. However, if you want a full bark edge on the "natural" rim, you will need to secure the bark with CA glue before and possibly during turning. This piece is GREEN to partially air-dried, meaning that it still retains a lot of its original moisture from when it was a living tree. Moisture content was 20% when measured in May, 2022. It has been well-sealed and is in the process of slowly drying. It was heat-treated to kill off any hungry critters that may have been burrowing inside. If you need a current moisture content, please message us and we'll check its status for you. This is a classic half-log blank, split through the center of the log. There is a sliver of pith present in the block, with a minor crack that can be turned off or secured with CA glue. I'm taking plenty of photos of this piece, so please scroll down below the first 3 photos to see more. About the Tree This Texas-grown Pecan tree was harvested in Fresno Texas in December, 2021. It was in a residential neighborhood where it had been planted near a home that was built in the 1930s. Over the years, the small Pecan tree grew large, and it threatened the house. The homeowners reluctantly called their tree company to cut down the tree and stack the wood for us to recover. We're always happy to save wood from the firepit or city dump. Their trash is now yours to treasure! |

True to size
I purchased this suit for my son’s prom. The jacket was a perfect fit but the pants were a little big on him. He loved the jacket. He said that the jacket was comfortable and roomy. We also had to have the arms taken up a little bit. The color and quality were very good!!! I myself loved the design and the material. Very nice.

Prom Must Have

1) Totally affordable compared to ANY rental
2) Prom or Homecoming, maybe a (non high fashion) charitable event type quality jacket. True to size.
3) Pants are likely a 36” length. But otherwise true to size. The quality is great.
4) I ordered according to another review. My son is 5’10” plus a smidge. He’s 180#. Athlete. I ordered a Large. It’s perfect other than the length. He has a twin brother who is the same height but about 20# lighter and would need a medium. Also an athlete.
6) Make sure you order in time for pants length alrerations.
5) Do it. Order it for your event. Save a few hundred dollars and a ton of time returning rentals, those pants can be used again for sure.

Great suit!
My man looked soooo handsome in his suit. We ordered this suit at the last minute. It fit perfect. He is 6'3 wears a 38 jean and xl shirt. We were worried about the length of the pants but they perfect and long and the jacket fit perfect! The quality was great and he said he loved the fit and it was spacious. We went to a ball and we leaned and rocked all night and he didnt have to come out of his jacket to do so.

The blue really pops
Fit fine, looks great, just wish it came with a tie. It does not come with a vest or shirt either but I didn’t really care about that. Pants were a little long but once my son put his shoes on he was able to manage length.
