The Pro Paludarium™ features an extra-deep, waterproof base, making it ideal for creating diverse habitats such as rainforests, swamps, or riverside environments. This versatile design supports both aquatic and terrestrial species, accommodating a wide range of plants and animals. The built-in convenient bottom drainage system greatly facilitates excess water removal or weekly water changes.

A Paludarium’s living space consists of 3 distinct zones:

Terrestrial Zone
The terrestrial zone is a land area with plants, trees, bushes and rocks that never submerges. In tropical climates a variety of invertebrates, reptiles and amphibians occur here.
Riparian Zone
The riparian zone or river bank is the interface between land and water. It is inhabited by semi-aquatic invertebrates, reptiles and amphibians.
Aquatic Zone
The aquatic zone can be a stream, pond or even lake – home to turtles, aquatic amphibians, fishes and freshwater shrimps.

The increased dwelling space of the Pro Paludarium™ offers numerous advantages for the physical and psychological well-being of reptiles and amphibians. The additional space will allow you to create diverse microhabitats within the terrarium, including different temperature gradients, humidity levels, and hiding places.

The front opening door is equipped with a spring-loaded push latch, making accessibility both smooth and straightforward. The integrated lock is designed to prevent accidental door openings, ensuring the safety of your animals.

Its concealed ventilation maintains a clean aesthetic, infusing the terrarium with an elegant touch. Beyond aesthetics, this terrarium offers an advanced three-tier adjustable airflow system, giving you precise control over the environment. The patented forced vertical airflow is designed to prevent condensation effectively, ensuring clear views and a healthier habitat. The improved air circulation is crucial for the respiratory health of reptiles and amphibians. The integrated dirt collector captures any escaping dust or sand from the vent holes, ensuring a mess-free environment.

One of the standout features is the patented in-frame locking mechanism for the removable top, which, along with the front-opening door(s), makes maintenance significantly more convenient. On top, at the back of the terrarium, there are multiple self-closing inlets for wires or tubing. Inside, gutters have been thoughtfully included for effective tubing management, and the specific attachment points for nozzles, facilitate the setup of an automatic misting system. The Exo Terra® Pro Paludarium™ features a convenient bottom drainage system, which greatly facilitates excess water removal and weekly water changes. The bottom part of the terrarium is waterproof once the tubing, elbow-connector and tap valve are connected to the drain.
